Tumoda, Inc. (“Tumoda,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a private smart-closet and outfit-planning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use the Tumoda mobile application, website, and related services (the “Services”).
1. Information we collect
Account information. We collect the email address you use to sign in, authentication status, and identifiers associated with your Tumoda account. Tumoda uses passwordless email codes and does not require a phone number or password.
Photos and wardrobe content. We collect outfit photos and optional correction photos that you choose from your library. We also store clothing-item images generated for your private closet and information such as garment names, categories, colors, brands, style tags, availability, favorites, notes, and optional purchase value.
Outfits, plans, and wear history. We store saved outfit combinations, planned and worn dates, occasions, time zone, notes, reactions, and relationships between the pieces you wear together.
Style preferences. We store the optional goals and style directions you choose, along with feedback such as love, pass, and the actions you take on outfit ideas.
Stylist conversations. We store the questions you send to Tumoda’s stylist, its replies, and references to relevant closet items, outfits, or proposed actions. These conversations remain associated with your account until you delete them through an available control or delete your Tumoda account.
Subscription information. Apple and RevenueCat provide information such as the subscription product, entitlement status, trial or grace-period status, renewal status, and expiration date. Tumoda does not receive your payment-card or bank-account information.
Usage and technical information. We collect limited product events such as app launches, screens viewed, onboarding progress, feature actions, app version and build, iOS major version, a random session identifier, and timing or count buckets. We also keep limited server logs such as request identifiers, routes, response status, latency, and safe error categories. We do not intentionally log outfit-photo bytes, authentication tokens, email codes, signed media links, or the content of stylist messages.
Optional location and weather. If you ask for a local forecast in Planner, the app requests your location from iOS and sends it to Apple WeatherKit to service that request. Tumoda does not store your raw coordinates. Tumoda may store the resulting condition, apparent temperature, precipitation chance, and wind speed with a plan or recommendation. You can use Tumoda without enabling location.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- authenticate you and keep each wardrobe private to its account;
- identify visible garments in a photo you choose;
- create and maintain your digital closet and private wear history;
- create catalog-style garment images and detect likely duplicate items;
- provide outfit ideas, remixes, planning tools, wardrobe insights, and stylist replies;
- provide optional weather-aware suggestions and reminders;
- process purchases and restore Tumoda Pro access;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- respond to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Tumoda data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising, and Tumoda does not display third-party advertising.
3. AI processing
Tumoda uses artificial intelligence to analyze selected outfit photos, derive clothing information, create private catalog-style images, generate wardrobe recommendations, and answer stylist questions. To provide these features, Tumoda sends the selected photo, text prompt, and relevant wardrobe or conversation context to OpenAI as a service provider.
AI-generated images and descriptions are estimates and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are presentation and styling aids, not proof of a garment’s exact appearance, brand, material, value, or condition. Tumoda does not intend to identify people in uploaded photos or infer sensitive personal traits. You can review and correct garment suggestions.
OpenAI states that it does not use API data to train or improve its models unless the customer explicitly opts in. Under its standard API data controls, limited content may be retained for abuse monitoring, safety, or legal reasons. Learn more in OpenAI’s data controls documentation.
4. How we share information
We disclose information only as needed to operate the Services, including to:
- Amazon Web Services, for authentication, email delivery, databases, private image storage, APIs, queues, and operational logging;
- OpenAI, for the AI processing described above;
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management;
- Apple, for App Store purchases, WeatherKit, device permissions, and local notifications;
- professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a corporate transaction; and
- a successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law.
Tumoda does not make your outfit photos, closet, plans, or conversations public and does not currently offer a public social feed.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain account and wardrobe content while your account is active or until you delete the relevant content. Product-interaction events are generally kept for a limited period and may later survive only in aggregated operational metrics that do not identify you.
When you request account deletion in the app, we disable access and begin deleting active account records and private media. Deleted and noncurrent object versions, backups, security logs, and records required for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute purposes may remain for a limited period before being removed or de-identified.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, encrypted private storage, account-scoped authorization, short-lived signed media access, and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
7. Your choices and rights
You may choose which photos to upload, skip optional style preferences, decline location and notification permission, correct or manage supported wardrobe content, restore or manage an Apple subscription, and delete your Tumoda account in Settings.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your information. Contact privacy@tumoda.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling it.
Deleting your Tumoda account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple. Manage or cancel that subscription through your Apple Account settings.
8. International processing
Tumoda and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
9. Children
Tumoda is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided information in violation of this section, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively unless otherwise stated and permitted by law.
